I apologize for not posting yesterday but somehow I locked myself out!! I couldn't get it to let me get in to add a post. Anyway, now all is well. Phew!
First I would like to say a big congratulations to Cheyanne and Daisy for making it to the Districts in the 1500 m. Cheyanne placed 8th and Daisy placed 1st. Way to go, girls!!
We have four students that will be attending the Districts in other events tomorrow so, good luck to Reesa, Kiara, Daisy and Jayme!

We will be watching a skipping presentation on May 27th, which will kick off our donation collection for Jump Rope for Heart. We will be having our jump off on June 4th and all donations will be due in on June 6.
We will be going to City Hall and will need drivers on June 13.

Congratulations to all of the students who went to the Zone Track Meet today. What a wonderful accomplishment! From what I hear, some of them have even made it to the Districts. Amazing!! Well done to all.
Because today was a bit of an unusual day, I'll be collecting some of today's homework tomorrow (for those who didn't have it completed and for those who were away today).

** Today our schedule was a bit crazy because we had a Smart Board put in our room!! (Yah!) Anyway, we were out of our room for about 2 hours today, which resulted in our not filling in our agendas. So if your child doesn't have anything in their agenda, it's not their fault.

A huge thank you to all families that sent food items today for our pot luck. It was delicious!! We even have some banana bread, chicken pieces and veggies for our snack tomorrow! Yum.

Homework:
Math: We are working on fractions and we are now working on comparing fractions
by making them have the same denominator. It is tricky and the kids need
practice to build on the understanding of the process. We did several questions
on the handout together today. I am assigning the rest of page 266 and #1-6
on page 267. BUT if your child did not finish many because they are struggling
with it, I told them that they just needed to finish 6 more questions.

Tomorrow (Tue) is our school track meet. Please remember to have your child wear sunscreen tomorrow and bring a hat. There will be freezies on sale for $2. Parents are welcome (and encouraged) to come if they can.

Our class has voted and they would like to have our 3rd potluck lunch this Thursday (sorry for the late notice). The following students are responsible for bringing lunch items:
